Bringing the Light: Celebrating Our Incredible WOOH Volunteers with a Diwali Twist

On October 12th, The Work of Our Hands' family gathered with vibrant energy and deep gratitude to celebrate the heart and soul of our organization: our incredible volunteers and board of directors.

The evening had a beautiful Indian Diwali theme. Diwali, often called the Festival of Lights, reminds us of the light, hope, and goodness we can bring into the world.

Here is a look inside our special evening of celebration:
🍛 An Indian Feast to Remember
The night kicked off with an absolute culinary masterpiece. Cheryl, Amanda, and Anna spent countless hours preparing an authentic Indian feast. It was so delicious that many guests couldn't resist going back for seconds—and even thirds!
📚 Education & Empowerment
After dinner, we gathered for a short lesson highlighting the incredible artistry behind some of our favorite products sourced from India. We explored the unique histories of traditional crafts, including:
Following the product spotlight, our store manager Amanda, stepped up to share an exciting update on the state of the store and gave us a sneak peek into some amazing upcoming events we have in store for the community.
🐘 Honoring Our Team & The Elephant Award
Every single one of our volunteers is deeply valued and appreciated. This year, we were thrilled to present the prestigious Elephant Award to Kseniya Pronina in recognition of her outstanding impact and dedication to our mission this past year. Congratulations, Kseniya!
🎲 Bingo, Laughs, and Tradition
Continuing a beloved tradition that started during the COVID-19 pandemic, we wrapped up our wonderful night with a high-energy round of Bingo. Between the competitive spirit, the awesome prizes, and the endless laughs echoing from every table, it was the perfect end to a perfect evening.

🧡 A Heartfelt Thank You
To put it simply: we cannot do what we do without our AMAZING family of volunteers. They are the backbone of WOOH, and they make our global mission possible right here at home.
How you can help us celebrate them:
