How your choices change lives around the world
Meet Sunita Shresta. She is one of the many talented felt ball makers who create our popular felted ball items from Nepal. Shresta rolls small clumps of wool around and around with a special matted board until they're perfectly round to create each ball. It is a very interesting process and take time and skill.
Because of supporters like you, Sunita's work is valued through fair trade. That means she earns a fair wage, works in safe conditions, and has the freedom to invest in her family’s future.
This is the heart of fair trade: it’s not charity—it’s partnership. Every purchase made through The Work of Our Hands ensures artisans are paid fairly for their craftsmanship, preserves cultural traditions, and protects the planet through sustainable practices.
When someone chooses fair trade, they choose dignity over exploitation, sustainability over waste, and connection over indifference. It’s a small decision that ripples outward, transforming lives and communities around the world.
Thank you for being part of 36 years of supporting the work of artisan hands from around the world.
