Visit The Work of Our Hands Table at Thursdays in Pella on June 2

The Work of Our Hands is hosting a kid-friendly table at “Around the World” night on June 2 in downtown Pella. The event starts at 6 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m. We will have a host of handmade instruments that all ages can try including rain sticks—bamboo instruments that sound like a rainstorm. There will also be an opportunity to try out a maraca or two.

Ellie Pooh paper will be displayed as well. Ellie Pooh is a hand-crafted paper made from sanitized elephant dung—a fact sure to elicit a response from children!

We are happy we were able to get paper beads all the way from the country of Haiti for the kids to make their very own paper bead bracelets!  These unique beads were hand made from repurposed cereal boxes. We can do this only while supplies last, so make sure to visit our table early.

Additional information about our fair trade purchasing and relationships with artisans from around the globe will be available from our wonderful volunteers.
