ARTIST SERIES - QUILLED TWO WOMEN BY THE SHORE, CROSS GREETING CARD
Regular price $30.00/
Two Women by the Shore, Mediterranean was created by French artist Henri Edmond Cross in 1896. The painting is an iconic example of pointillism, which is a style of painting made up of many individual dots. Cross is considered a neoimpressionist who strived to purify the techniques and effects of impressionism. Cross said, “I want to paint happiness, happy beings who will have become mankind in several centuries when pure anarchy will be realized.” The Artist Series artfully transforms paint strokes into paper strips using the ancient art of quilling. Each card takes several hours to make and reimagines a famous work of art into a magnificent greeting card that can either be sent and shared with loved ones or kept and framed as the work of art it is.

Quilling is the art of rolling, coiling and shaping small strips of paper to create a cohesive three-dimensional design and has been practiced for centuries. Historians have been able to date the art form back to Ancient Egyptian times where crafters would use a bird’s feather (quill) as the tool to coil the paper upon.
